What Is A Project Car?

The project car is actually a very simple concept that is often misunderstood by people. The definition of a project car is fairly self-explanatory, it's a car you are working on to make it better for show or to go fast around the track. This could include things like modifying the engine, brakes, or putting in an aftermarket exhaust system.

A car being worked on from the ground up to be modified and turned into a race/show car would fall under this category. But for many people, a project car is any vehicle that requires some work to be done before it becomes drivable.

If you are thinking about buying a project car, make sure you know exactly what you are getting into. If it's a car that doesn't run or drive currently, how much work is needed before it will? Do you even have the time to commit to working on this vehicle? Is the asking price too good to be true considering all of the work that needs to be done?
