If you think logically, you may understand that thicker oil won't leak out of the engine or transmission. So the obvious decision is to change the oil for a thicker one to prevent leaks. But it's very bad advice as every car has a certain type of oil recommended by the producer. Once you change the oil to a thicker type, you may initiate bad engine wear.
There are some products that offer you kind of leak healing. But basically, they just make the oil in the engine thicker and do a lot of harm. Technically, there aren't any products that can repair seals or gaskets. They may be useful for you if you want to trade in your car with a leak and don't want to invest money in repair.
Also, there are no special types of oil that can prevent leaking. When heated, nearly all types of oil have the same structure and they will leak if there are problems with seals, gaskets, plugs, and caps. But if you have an old vehicle with huge milage and leaks, the optimal decision will be to buy the thickest motor oil among those liquid types that are recommended by the producer.
