Jaguar XF Secret Settings You Should Know

1) Valet Mode

Valet mode is a setting in Jaguar XF that restricts access to your cargo area and glove compartment. It also prevents the operation of the touch-screen, thus restricting access to personal information such as phone numbers and navigation addresses. This means that you can entrust you're your car valet attendant or a mechanic without compromising your peace of mind.

To access the valet mode setting in Jaguar XF, navigate to the Extra Features section, select Valet Mode, and enter your master PIN or temporary PIN. You will then select the features you want to restrict during valet mode.

2) Double Lock

The double lock is an extra security feature in Jaguar XF that puts the door locks in your car in a state that they cannot be unlocked or started from the inside. This means that even if someone breaks the window, they won't be able to unlock the car doors or start the car. The double lock will only be activated while the car's engine is off and the driver's door is fully closed.

To activate double locking, you need to press the lock button on your key fob twice within 3 seconds. The hazard lamps will flash twice, with a long second flash. You will also hear an audible alarm sound confirming that the double lock is engaged.

3) Auto High Beam Assist

The Auto High Beam Assist is a feature that assists your Jaguar XF to detect oncoming traffic at night, and automatically switches the vehicle's headlights between the main and dipped beam. This ensures that you don't dazzle other drivers on the road. And once the oncoming vehicle has passed, the headlights will switch back to a high beam, thus increasing visibility.

Deploying the Auto High Beam Assist setting is quite straightforward and locate the "A" symbol on the headlight control stalk. Next, push this icon forward, and the Auto High Beam Assist will automatically engage.

4) Approach Lights/ Auto Lamps

The Approach Lights feature in Jaguar XF is a feature designed to enhance safety and visibility when approaching or leaving your vehicle in dark or dimly-lit conditions. When this setting is on, your vehicle's exterior lights, including the headlights and taillights will be automatically turned on as soon as you approach the car with the key fob. These lights will also remain activated for a brief period after you alight and lock your vehicle.

To use this setting, simply press the button with a light symbol on your key fob as you approach the vehicle. The exterior lights will come on and remain illuminated for a brief period.

5) Intelligent Speed Limiter

The Intelligent Speed Limiter feature, also known as Adaptive Cruise Control, is a setting in Jaguar XF that allows the vehicle to maintain a gap from the vehicle ahead. It also monitors speed limit signs and combining it with existing navigation data, smoothly regulates the vehicle's speed. 

To activate this feature, you first need to turn on the speed limiter for the steering wheel controls. Next, open the "Driver Assistance" menu and click on the option for "Intelligent Limiter". Lastly, press the resume button on the steering, and hold it for a second or two.

6) Blind Spot Assist

The Blind Spot Assist is a safety feature in Jaguar XF that actively monitors your blind spots at all times, allowing you to change lanes more safely. It also applies steering correction, enabling you to stay out of harm's way if a potential collision is detected. 

Blind Spot Assist is usually built into the side mirror of your Jaguar XF. And when engaged, your mirror will flash a warning sign if there are obstacles in the way as you get ready to merge or pass.

To activate this system, you need to locate the Blind Spot Assist button on the driver's door panel or the center console and press it. You will then hear a chime or see an indicator light flashing to signify that the system is engaged.

7) Rear Sunshade

This is a setting that is designed to provide increased comfort and privacy for passengers occupying the rear seats. It is essentially a motorized sunshade that you can deploy or retract to lock out sunlight or reduce glare from the rearview window.

The controls for the rear sunshade are located on the driver's side door panel, and in some cases, on the center console. The sunshade can be deployed or retracted by pressing this button.

8) Power Gesture Trunk Lid

The power gesture trunk lid in Jaguar XF offers a convenient and hands-free way to access your car's truck space. This is particularly useful if you need to open or close the trunk while your hands are full or when you don't have direct access to your key fob.

9) Power Folding Mirrors
