However, the Suzuki M190R is a fantastic motorcycle, and the body of the bike has a timeless design; also, it has appealing chrome highlights that contribute to its one-of-a-kind appearance. 

Because it is a more compact sport bike, the M109R is an excellent choice for off-road road trips as well as commuting.

Brief history of the Suzuki M109R

The Suzuki M109R motorbike was shown to the public for the first time in 2006 as the company's flagship V-Twin cruiser. The Suzuki Intruder M1800R is the name under which it is sold in some regions of the globe.

In addition, the Suzuki M109R has earned the nickname "the bully." This large badass motorbike is well-known for being one of the "cruisers" with the quickest acceleration in the region and one of the "cruisers" with the most acceptable appearance.

Since its first introduction, it has been the Japanese muscle cruiser that all others want to emulate. The Suzuki M109R is renowned across the cruiser community for its lightning-quick acceleration, much like its stablemate, the Hayabusa.

In addition, the Suzuki M109R is an outstanding example of how cruiser design can be combined with the legendary power and handling of Suzuki motorcycles. 

Suzuki has essentially revolutionized the notion of a cruiser by providing the Boulevard M109R with a robust infusion of race-proven technology created for the championship-winning GSX-R sport motorcycles. This was accomplished by infusing the bike with a potent shot of race-proven technology.

The Boulevard M109R is the most powerful cruiser Suzuki has ever manufactured, with its all-new 109-cubic-inch, fuel-injected V-twin engine producing massive torque from idle to redline, which translates into acceleration. 

Furthermore, it also emits a throaty, aggressive exhaust sound meant to let the world know they're looking at and listening to the hottest cruiser on the road.

Specification of the Suzuki M109R

In the following paragraphs, we are going to talk about the Suzuki M109R's many technical specs.

The Suzuki M109R has an incredible 1783cc V-twin engine that is a four-stroke, liquid-cooled, and 4-valve design.

Its overall length is 2460 millimeters (96.8 inches), its width is 940 millimeters (37.0 inches), and its height is 1180 millimeters (46.5 inches). 

Additionally, it has a ground clearance of 135 millimeters (5.31 inches), a seat height of 700 millimeters (27.6 inches), a wheelbase that measures 1715 millimeters (67.5 inches), and a dry weight of 315 kilograms (695 lbs.)

Also, it has a compression ratio of 10.5:1, semi-dry sump lubrication, and a 5-speed gearbox.

Its front suspension is an inverted telescopic that has a coil spring and oil damping, while its rear suspension is a link type that has a coil spring, oil damping, and seven different ways to modify the spring pre-load.

In addition to all of these features, it has a gasoline tank size of 19 liters (5.0 gallons).

How reliable is the Suzuki M109R

The Suzuki M109R is a unique motorcycle, and the fact that it is so reliable contributes, at least in part, to its attraction. You either like how it looks and accept the reality that it is essentially a motorbike with a large engine that is suitable for going on leisurely rides about town, or you do not.

Although it is a large motorcycle, it is ideal for any area since it is swift enough and has a strong acceleration; while on back roads, its equilibrium of rapid, steady steering and a smooth engine make it a pleasure to ride in both confined and open terrain.

Because of this bike's high level of torque, you won't be disappointed by its performance in any way. The fantastic thing about this bike is how simply it can be customized.

Suzuki has outdone itself by developing a durable engine and transmission in the M109R that, if properly maintained, will continue to run without complaint and function at an optimum level even after 200,000 kilometers have been driven.

Many guys forget that the M109R is a cruiser, and thrashing or high-revving it will make it more likely that something in the engine or gearbox will wear out over time, making it last less long and not work as well as it should. For that, you would be better off with a high-revving street bike.

If you take care of the M109R, it will provide you with years of delight and always get more than its fair share of stares from those around you.

In addition, Suzuki has taken the same approach with the M109R that it did with its GSX-R sport bike. 

This means that separate maps control the pair of spark plugs for each cylinder and light simultaneously when the motorcycle is being driven at a cruising speed. Still, they stagger their firing when the bike is accelerating quickly.

Common problems of the Suzuki M109R

There are a few issues that we've heard people highlight while discussing the M109R. In the section that follows, we will discuss some of the most common problems with the M109R, as well as specific remedies and preventive actions.

  • The clutch

The clutch is the component that transfers power from the engine to the transmission to change gears on the Suzuki M109R and other motorcycles.

In other words, it allows the rider to activate or deactivate power to the back wheel to shift gears. However, this may fail at any time, and most Suzuki M109R consumers have complained about it.

If you have a clutch problem, it is best to replace it, and when purchasing a new clutch, ensure that the clutch cable is tight and durable. Moreover, you must check that the clutch lever feels solid.

You don't want that lever to give you difficulty when riding down the road, and you should often inspect the brake pads. A worn place will lower the braking force, which might lead to brake troubles.

As the clutch on an M109R is a cable clutch, it may be loosened by using clutch cable lubricant or changing the cable tensioner. If they do not work, a mechanic should examine the bike.

  • Transmission

The transmission on your Suzuki M109R is made up of gears, bearings, and a lot of other moving parts. If you suspect that the gearbox is not functioning correctly, you should get it inspected by a professional.

In addition, the transmission of a motorbike has two primary functions: it enables the engine to spin independently of the wheels while the vehicle is at rest and it transmits power to the rear wheels. It maintains the engine speed within the appropriate range for the vehicle's speed.

Incorrect tire pressure, whether too high or too low, may result in poor tire performance in terms of grip, comfort, rolling resistance, and punctures. Temperature can also have an influence on the transmission of a motorbike.

Generally, if you are experiencing difficulties while shifting gears, there may be a problem with the transmission.

  • Drive shaft

The drive shaft's job is to transmit the torque generated by the engine to the wheels, whether it comes from the gearbox or the differential. 

In order to achieve perfect synchronization between joints, it is also necessary for it to adjust for any and all changes in angle or length brought on by manipulation and deflection.

Torque transmission issues and shaft problems are common for these bikes and you will probably need a specialist to prevent or repair these problems. The majority of users have also complained about this issue in the Suzuki M109R

Our opinion

If you are growing short in the leg like me, then I would say that this is a worthy investment. Additionally, if you like cruisers but don't want to pay the over-expensive pricing, then the Suzuki M109R is the cruiser for you. 

The Suzuki M109R is also the most stylish-looking cruiser that is available, and it is simple to customize. This is not a bike that would ever lead to boredom, as there are so many customization options available for it.

On the other hand, the rear tire is one component of the maintenance of the Suzuki M109R that is much more costly than that of most other bikes. It is a tremendous amount of space! In addition to this, all that is required for the handling to become noticeably affected is a little amount of wear.

When it comes to their overall performance, there are motorcycles on the market that are both quicker and more flexible. There are, however, very few bikes that can come close to the feeling of riding the M109R at full speed when traveling in a straight line. This is because the M109R is designed to provide straightforward, straight-line power. 

Last but not least, the Suzuki M109R is a very reliable motorcycle, but just like any other motorcycle, it has certain drawbacks, which we went over in this piece; despite these flaws, we still think it's an outstanding bike that you need to give a go.
