What Does The Snowflake Mean In My Car?

The snowflake sign in a car may mean many things. For example, it may mean a warning about the cold weather. In VW cars, for example, it appears when the temperature outside is below +4 degrees Celsius (+39 Fahrenheit).

In some cars, the snowflake may mean that the snow mode has been turned on. It means that the traction control system, ABS, and some other systems start working more efficiently to avoid skids and to ensure that the vehicle steering and handling are optimal for a winter road.

The sign may also be connected with winter tires. In this case, the car says to you that winter tires are needed.

Sometimes, the snowflake may be present in cars to tell drivers about other things related to winter driving. For example, it may mean that the windscreen wiper fluid is at freezing point or should be filled with de-icing liquid.
