The SVC acronym stands for Speed-sensitive Volume Compensation. This is a system you can find in modern cars. It changes the volume of your radio when the speed changes, making it more comfortable to use.
The SVC system uses the speedometer of the car in order to measure the speed, by using this data it takes an average reading. When traveling at a constant speed without changing lanes or pressing any acceleration pedal, there is no sound change in volume so you don't need to touch the control knob. But if you move your car faster or slower than usual, SVC recognizes this and automatically changes the volume. It allows you to hear the music instead of the growing noise of the car engine and wind.
The SVC technology is not new, but it started being actively used in cars recently. It is especially useful when driving in crowded places. If you are in a traffic jam and the car speed changes frequently, SVC will adjust the volume accordingly to keep it at a comfortable level.
There are usually four modes: Off, High, Low, Mid. These modes help you choose the best way to automatically control the volume.
